Getting Rid Of Metallic Taste In Tomatoes

Ol3Media CFP: Musical!

In recent years the genre of the musical is back by force jumped to the front with projects that have been very successful. Whether it's cinema, theater or television, or even the Web, the new watchword is to sing and dance. The influence of this kind on the media landscape does not go unnoticed.

The next issue to look Ol3Media brief interventions that may offer reflection on the subject with respect to various productions, both musical "pure" is that they employ elements.

Possible suggestions (but I welcome suggestions of other topics):

- Musical and cult (Rocky Horror Picture Show, Rent, Hairspray, The Producers Pinocchio, Notre Dame de Paris, Menopause, ... Les Misérables);
- Film musical (Grease, The Sound of Music, Mamma Mia, Chicago, Nine, Moulin Rouge, Fame, The Grinch, South Park, Dreamgirls, Sweeney Todd ...)
- The TV musicals as: specific episodes and programs "dedicated" (Glee , Fame, The Singing Detective, Blackpool, Viva Laughlin, Buffy, Scrubs, Oz, That 70s Show, Xena, Flight of the Conchords, Ally McBeal, Paso Adelante, The Patty, Cop Rock, One Life to Live ...)
- The success of the Web (Dr Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Prop 8 ...)

The essays should be short reflections that may offer discussion on various topics: the tropes, themes, the audience, the spread on the internet, the author's style, the link with tradition, the plots between average different.

The essays will be chosen in the next issue of Ol3Media published online in mid-June 2010. The proposals, together with a brief biography of the author (5 / 6 lines), must be received by March 31, 2010 while i saggi accettati dovranno essere conclusi ed inviati entro il 20 aprile (se in Inglese) o il 15 maggio (se in Italiano) per l’editing necessario.
